Mom's doing good, she had targeted radiation about two months back, she's been doing fine since - just a little weakness, getting back in the saddle. So far she's been scanning clean and cancer free, but obviously it's something we'll just have to keep watch on into the foreseeable future. She's been going out more often, we actually took a stroll out to the shopping center behind the house the other day. Not a lot going on with me, switched retailers which has been a /fabulous/ decision. Hopefully I'll start posting some crafty or artsy things I've done in the coming months but you know me and saying shit like that. No promises.

So apparently the surgery went fine, they got both melanomas out, moreMDM aka Mom's been in ICU since Friday evening. She's awake and responsive, winning over every nurse and the like who comes through as usual, and still plenty happy to toss me'n pops a middle finger when we snark to much. Not that she's not dishing it back, of course. She did that same evening, even, albeit it was harder to understand her and she had a hard time talking.
Left arm's still weak not terribly responsive, and her words are troublesome. Hard to recall/associate them properly and she jumbles the syllables sometimes. With luck she'll be back in general Neurology tomorrow but no guarantees. Two drains in her brain gotta come out first they said.
Will keep posted.

Edit 7/17: Mom's having surgery Friday. We're meeting the neurosurgeon all together tomorrow afternoon.

Hey all, on here to give a heads-up on what's happening in the Morganzone. I don't recall if I've brought it up on here in the past but my mother moreMDM was diagnosed with melanoma several years back. It came back last summer and after a decent bout of chemo we did get it and remove it fine. Unfortunately it had metastasized at that point. There are now two known tumors in her brain, one of which for sure caused a seizure on the 25th of June. Not to get into the details of since but it's been a madhouse, shit storm and cake walk all in one. Due to steroids messing with her blood sugar she's been very weak, and thanks to three [known] bouts of tremors [today alone] in the seizure-side we have a new cat scan informing us the tumors are larger and at least one is now bleeding into the brain. She is back in the hospital in neuro for observation, at least overnight.

So no matter which way any of this goes, shit's kinda on the serious side. For her part of course she's being upbeat and congenial as ever. Her humor's delightfully black, too. I'm sure some of y'all would be quite heartened to hear the snark and sarcasm that goes on in her room. Laughter every five to fifteen minutes. [This woman is unnatural, and quite frankly at times reminds me of a Mary Sue only well... far far far less fail and annoying <3]

Now I know times are tough for a lot of folk and it frankly galls me to do this but if anyone's got a buck or three to spare please consider tossing it our way. Going home to Virginia to see family she hasn't in five years is top of her list, and one way or another I'd like to be damn sure she gets to. Oh and keep the lights on and us fed. You know. No big deal.

I do hope y'all take care of yourselves and if you got loved ones you damn well tell 'em you love 'em.

Ere too long, next month or so. I can't seem to bring myself to completely purge my gallery, and it'd leave me a place for my dumbshit things and character refs. But all the nice things shall move to winnafish next month or so, and all new quality pieces will go there too. May or may not make separate for jewelry.
